Chapter 17 - What Is Snow
Chapter 17 - What Is Snow
I have two parks - the one in Oasis Springs which I use mainly for the teens to use during the summer time. I modified them both to include more of the newer objects that came along during the development of the game, such as the skating, pools, and toddler slides. The one in Willow Creek is targeted towards winter, with the only ice skating rink.
The island people don't know much about snow. So after Winterfest, Kade took the family out to Willow Creek park and have them experience snow first hand.
No sandcastles here, but building a snowman was just as fun. It was a good day, with the sun out just after a good snow storm.
It also allow the islanders to meet some of the mainlanders. For Daniela and Tane, it was like going to Disneyland. There were all kinds of neat toys to play with here, but with the sun going down, they also learned that it gets cold here. For someone always in swimming trunks, that thick coat was thick enough at sundown. Time to go home.
The only TV on the island was located at the shack house and to satisfy the New Year's requirement of counting down, everyone showed up to watch the celebration on the 17" screen pointing backwards. Technology and Islanders didn't quite blend well - they thought it was a fancy radio.
Daniela exploring. There is this path that goes up the hill and Daniela always wondered where it lead to, so on the last day of the holiday break, she took off a looking.
Theres a house here, interesting, but not as high as three peaks and it's almost a jungle.
She didn't see anyone home, so she went around the edge and not making any noise.
She got to a point where she can see the main beach down below through a clearing. Nice view.
She continue on around and ran into some strange looking rocks. Those look like carvings, I wonder what that meant.
She has to tell Tane and Nani about this when she sees them.
When she came across Nani, she was telling her story and then suddenly she went into a child phase and totally forgot what she was talking about. This really frustrated her.
Leila had to go to a museum, so they gathered up the children and traveled to Willow Creek to visit the art gallery. It's the only one in this game, but it did give a nice family portrait along with Tane, but he was considered as part of the family now.
It was the end of the holidays and time to get the children back to where they belong. The first stop was dropping off Nani and then on to Oliana's to drop off Tane. His one week with the Helms is over.
